The Funding Escalator event will centre around access to finance and addressing the funding ‘escalator’ for innovative businesses. This will include positive and negative views from both the market and innovative businesses. The conference will feature new innovations and solutions to this such as crowdfunding at the micro finance end to new innovations in banking from Silicon Valley.
 
The conference will give delegates the opportunity to hear from a range of finance experts on the access to finance options for SMEs available. The London Stock Exchange have run these nationally and aim to provide an overview of the funding ladder from an equity perspective, and speakers will include experts from the Angel, Venture Capital and Stock Market community. In addition to this they will also provide real life experience of the pros and cons of various forms of finance on offer.

This presentation forms part of the Manchester Academic Health Science Centre - The Health and Wealth Challenge Meeting 12th - 13th November 2012. It is designed to add to the panel discussion on market challenges and funding placement but in relation to working with the NHS. This brief presentation will draw upon the experiences gained from models of collaborative working in Greater Manchester(NHS, academia, industry, trade associations, Medi/Science Parks, local government). Discussion will focus on building innovation clusters with the NHS and how various stakeholders can work together fo mutual benefit.
